Queens Park Rangers' hopes of Premier League survival could be boosted by the news striker Loic Remy is set to return to action this weekend.

Remy pulled a muscle in the final moments of his side's training session last Friday, with some reports suggesting his groin injury would keep him on the treatment table for several weeks.

The Frenchman, who joined from Marseille in January, scored on his QPR debut in the 1-1 draw against West Ham last month and was seen by manager Harry Redknapp as the goal scorer who could propel the Loftus Road club up the Premier League standings.

And he could now return quicker than expected against Swansea on Saturday providing his manager is satisfied the injury will not be aggravated.

"He's close to being fit for Saturday,'' Redknapp told a QPR fans' forum. "He trained this morning, he's very close.

"But I don't want to rush him in case he breaks down.''
