Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is set to undergo a late fitness assessment to determine if he will play any part in Monday's Premier League match against West Bromwich Albion at Anfield.

The striker has enjoyed an excellent start to his Liverpool career, scoring four goals in his first six games since arriving from Chelsea in January.

That form earned him a call-up for England's friendly against Brazil, but he had to withdraw from the squad for last Wednesday's 2-1 win with a thigh injury sustained in the 2-2 draw with Manchester City the previous weekend.

Manager Brendan Rodgers said in his press conference ahead of Monday's match that he should know by the end of the weekend if he can play Sturridge or not.

"Daniel we're just monitoring over the next couple of days," he said. "It's not overly serious but we just need to assess to see where he's at. We'll see by Sunday."

Another injury concern was Raheem Sterling, who missed the England Under-21 side's friendly with Sweden on Tuesday with a dead leg, but Rodgers expects the winger to be fit, along with the rest of his squad.

"Raheem was on the field this morning so he'll be fine," he said. "Everyone else is fine."
