Swansea City defender Chico Flores is set to miss the Capital One Cup final against Bradford City after rupturing ankle ligaments.

Flores had to be stretchered off in the first half of Swansea's 4-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday and was taken to hospital to be assessed.

While it remains unclear how long he will be sidelined, the club's head physio, Kate Rees, has said Flores is all but certain to miss the cup final on February 24.

"It's difficult at the moment to assess how long he will be out because we need the swelling to go down first, but he is very unlikely to make the cup final," Rees said.

Flores, who joined the Swans in the summer from Genoa, has been a key player at the heart of the defence alongside Ashley Williams this season.
