LA Galaxy striker Robbie Keane has urged Frank Lampard to move to the United States to replace David Beckham as the face of MLS.

Keane joined Beckham in Los Angeles in 2011 and the pair helped the Galaxy claim back-to-back MLS Cup titles.

The former England captain moved on to Paris Saint-Germain last month, and Keane believes Lampard is the perfect replacement as the competition looks to boost its profile.

"We want to get good players in," Keane is quoted as telling goal.com.

"It is good for the association here, as well as Galaxy, to be linked with big-name player - and that is what Frank is. Hopefully we can get him."

Lampard's future remains uncertain, with Chelsea yet to offer the midfielder a contract extension, despite his recent rise in form.

England manager Roy Hodgson, though, has warned Lampard that moving away from Europe could harm his chances at playing international football through to the 2014 World Cup.
