Laudrup set for new Swansea deal
Swansea City will open talks with manager Michael Laudrup over a new contract "in the coming days", according to the Dane's agent.
Laudrup signed a two-year deal when he took over at the Liberty Stadium last summer, but after leading them to the Capital One Cup final in his first season in charge the Welsh club are set to offer him new and improved terms.
"Yes, Swansea has a strong interest in extending Michael Laudrup's contract," Bayram Tutumlu told Ekstra Bladet. "In the coming days, we will meet with Swansea and discuss the possibility of an extension."
The past few weeks have seen forward Michu, midfielder Leon Britton, club captain Garry Monk and goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel all sign new long-term deals with the club.
Former Mallorca and Spartak Moscow coach Laudrup will lead Swansea out at Wembley against Bradford City later this month, while the club currently sit seventh in the Premier League table.
That success has led to him being linked with several big jobs, and last month 15.9% of respondents to a poll by Spanish newspaper Marca said he would be their choice as Real Madrid's next manager. That placed him third behind Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez and Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp.
