Gallas casts doubt on his future at Tottenham
William Gallas has cast doubt on his future at Tottenham, following manager Andre Villas-Boas' admission that one of his central defenders will leave the club this summer.
While Spurs are having to juggle things up front due to a lack of strikers, they are spoilt for choice at centre-back with Galls, Michael Dawson, Younes Kaboul, Jan Vertonghen and Steven Caulker vying for starts.
Five is one too many in the eyes of Villas-Boas who, ahead of Tottenham's clash with Lyon in the Europa League, said: "We started this season with five central defenders because of an injury to Younes Kaboul but this is not normal.
"I can tell you that we will not be starting next season with five - it will be four."
The manager's words have hit home to Gallas who said: "I don't know what will happen about my contract - I don't even think about it.
"Will I still be here next season? I don't know."
Should Gallas leave, he would like to have a trophy to showcase. He said: "Tottenham want to win the Europa League and it's very important to have something to show at the end of the season."
