Muamba to present League Cup trophy
Fabrice Muamba is to present the Capital One Cup to the winning team after Sunday's final between Swansea and Bradford at Wembley.
Muamba, 24, who retired from football last year after suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch during Bolton's FA Cup tie with Tottenham, will be the sponsor's guest of honour for the day.
The former England Under-21 international will be introduced to the squads prior to the game before watching the match from the Royal Box.
The midfielder was playing in an FA Cup quarter-final at White Hart Lane last March when he collapsed on the pitch. Muamba's heart stopped beating for 78 minutes but he managed to survive due to the prompt treatment he received on the pitch.
He had hoped to resume his career after making a miraculous recovery but was advised against it by doctors and retired in August.
Capital One will be making a donation to the Hearts and Goals campaign, which is involved with aiming to raise awareness and give communities across the country access to defibrillators, as well as CPR and defibrillator training.
Muamba, who is involved with the charity, said: "It's been such an exciting tournament this year and it will be a great honour to be presenting the trophy to the winners. I know it will be a very special atmosphere on Sunday.''
