Wenger quiet on Arsenal takeover talk
Arsene Wenger claims to have no concerns about the talk of a takeover at Arsenal.
A report on Sunday claimed an Arab consortium is prepared to pay in the region of £1.5 billion to take control of the Gunners.
The report prompted Arsenal to release a statement claiming majority shareholder Stan Kroenke had no interest in selling his stake in the club.
Kroenke holds 66.83% of the club, having pushed through a £430 million-plus takeover in April 2011. Uzbek oil magnate Alisher Usmanov, who holds a 29.96% stake in the club, is believed to be similarly reluctant to consider cashing in.
Wenger's focus is on on-field matters and he saw his side drop seven points behind Tottenham following defeat in the North London derby.
The Gunners boss was asked for his opinion on the takeover talk but he would not be drawn on the subject.
"If people are ready to invest their money it means the club is not moving too much in a bad direction," Wenger said. "I am nothing to do with it. I focus on my job, financial is down to the directors, shareholders and the owners.''
