Romelu Lukaku has advised Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke to join a "big club" in order to become a better footballer.

Benteke, 22, has impressed during his debut Premier League season, scoring 13 goals despite Villa struggling at the bottom of the table.

Now, his Belgium international team-mate Lukaku is keen for him to showcase his talents on a bigger stage.

"I think, I hope Christian will make a move to a big club so he can improve his game as well," he told Sky Sports.

"This will be also important for the national team, like I want to go back to my parent club in the future - but we are doing well and I hope it will continue."

Lukaku's own future is also uncertain. He has openly spoken of staying on loan with West Brom for another season in order to continue his development, although nothing has been decided by the Baggies or his parent club Chelsea, and it won't be until the end of the season.

"I am just waiting until the end of season, I am just performing for West Brom at the moment we will see what will happen and I don't want to talk about it either," he said.
