Liverpool defender Daniel Agger says it would be a dream to finish his career at the club.

Agger, 28, who signed for the Reds from Brondby in January 2006, has become an integral member of the Anfield defence and has since reportedly attracted interest from Barcelona.

However, when asked by bold.dk if it would be a dream to remain at Liverpool until he retires, the Denmark international, who committed himself to the club up until 2016 in October, said: "Yes, I have signed a contract with them for at least three more years."

Although their form has picked up recently, Liverpool have had a fairly inconsistent season overall and currently sit seventh in the Premier League.

Agger feels the Anfield club have underperformed this term and should really be placed higher up the table.

"We have not been good enough. Not at the right times at least. We played well but we have not got the results we want," he said.
