Kompany poised for City comeback
Vincent Kompany is finally set to make his Manchester City comeback after completing 90 minutes in Belgium's 1-0 victory over Macedonia.
The City captain had not played for exactly two months since limping off in the FA Cup fourth round win over Stoke on January 26 and suffered several setbacks in his bid to return after a calf injury.
But he played the full game as Belgium won their World Cup qualifier, courtesy of a goal from Chelsea's Eden Hazard, to stay top of the group.
Now Kompany is likely to take his place in the City defence when Newcastle visit the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
And there could be a double injury boost for manager Roberto Mancini if Sergio Aguero recovers from a knee problem to play.
The striker has not taken the field in March and missed his country's internationals against Venezuela and Bolivia but is back in training.
Yaya Toure, who missed the defeat at Everton with a migraine, should be able to start against Newcastle.
