Samba fires off at fans in Twitter row

Queens Park Rangers defender Christopher Samba has told the club's fans that his salary has "nothing to do with any of you" in the wake of his side's 3-2 defeat at Fulham on Monday night.

Samba, 29, was signed by QPR during the January transfer window from Anzhi Makhachkala for around £12 million in a bid to fortify the team's backline as they look to preserve their Premier League status.

But the centre-back has struggled to halt QPR's poor form, as this week's loss at Craven Cottage left Harry Redknapp's side seven points adrift of safety.

After the match against their West London counterparts, Samba wrote on his official Twitter account that he was sorry for his own display, after he was culpable for Fulham's first two goals.

"I'm really sorry I let the side down, really upset with my first half performance I can't say sorry enough to all the supporters, won't give up," Samba said. "Wish everyone a safe travel home good night God bless speak tomorrow."

The Congo international then went on to express his frustration at question marks over his earnings, instead urging the QPR faithful to "get over it and support the team".

He said: "Before I go tonight I just want to say I see a lot of you talk about I shouldn't say sorry, well when I'm wrong I'm wrong I hold my hands up.

"Then second of all to all you keep talking about £100,000 performance, tell me what is a £100,000 performance? We as players go out and give our all.

"We do our best every week, what I get paid has nothing to do with any of you, as for my price tag I didn't put a price on my head, grow up please.

"You all moan about players and wages, but we don't just entertain you we entertain millions around the world, without us what would you tweet about.

"We play this sport as players that we love but also it is a job, we keep millions happy on a Saturday, we get paid to entertain you all.

"Just some most then others hope you understand, fed up with the money tweets get over it and support the team, good night."
