QPR manager Harry Redknapp anticipates that striker Loic Remy will leave Loftus Road if the club are relegated from the Premier League this season.

The Rs currently sit 19th in the table and with seven points separating them from safety, appear destined for the drop.

Redknapp spent heavily in the January transfer window in a bid to boost his ailing side's survival hopes, with Remy his marquee signing from Marseille.

The Frenchman has done his utmost to aid QPR in their battle against the drop, netting five goals in seven games, but Redknapp is not hopeful of holding on to his star striker if QPR are demoted.

"I would have thought it would be hard to hang on to Remy," Redknapp said. "He was someone we were chasing when I was at Spurs.

"Every goal he has scored here has been a fantastic goal. He has five goals in seven games. Over the season he would get you 20 goals in the Premier League. And a 20-goal-a-year man is going to be hard to hang on to.

"We have to make sure we stay up if we want to keep him. That's the key, although I haven't discussed it with him or the owners."
