The Football Association has confirmed that Andre Marriner will referee the FA Cup final between Manchester City and Wigan.

The game, which takes place on May 11, will be Marriner's third assignment at Wembley after he took charge of the 2010 Community Shield between Manchester United and Chelsea and the Championship play-off final between Cardiff and Blackpool in the same season.

Marriner said: "It's a great honour to be asked to referee the 2013 FA Cup Final especially as it coincides with the 150th anniversary of The Football Association.

"The FA Cup is revered around the world because of the importance and history of the competition."

Marriner's team of match officials on for the final comprises assistant referees Stephen Child and Simon Long and fourth official Anthony Taylor.
