Schalke's Julian Draxler has talked up a move to Real Madrid by saying that a move to the Santiago Bernabeu would be "a dream".

Draxler, 19, has helped put Schalke in a position to qualify for the Champions League next season and caught the eye of some of Europe's top clubs in the process.

The Bundesliga side's president Horst Heldt has previously refuted the chances of the German international moving away during the summer, but in an interview with Marca, Draxler claimed the chance to play in Spain is an attractive prospect.

"Real Madrid are one of the world's great clubs, it makes me proud that they like my style of play. It would be a dream to play at Real Madrid," Draxler said. "I've always said that I would like to play in Spain.

"Every weekend I try to see the matches involving Madrid and Barcelona. I never miss the Clasicos."

"Right now I'm with Schalke and I have a contract until 2016. I'm having a very good season and I'm doing very well, I've scored eight goals in the Bundesliga and I feel very happy."
