Mancini blasted his players' attitude after their defeat to Tottenham in the Premier League

Vincent Kompany has vowed to stay and help Manchester City fight to regain the Premier League title next season, and has encouraged team-mate Samir Nasri to do likewise.

Kompany signed a six-year deal with City last summer but, following last season's title breakthrough, this campaign has been a frustrating one. That has been enough to spark speculation over the future of the City captain, with Barcelona heavily linked to the defender.

However, the 27-year-old moved to quash any further speculation, saying in The Sun: "I have no reason to go elsewhere.

"I am happy here, I have five years left and if you knew the plans for this team for the future ... I consider that to be a real objective.

"We are already preparing for next season and, if Samir can keep up this level of performance, we will really have an exceptional player."
