Long-serving Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Davies could be on his way to the MLS after holding talks with Toronto about a transfer.

Davies, 36, was told by the Trotters that he would not be getting a new contract at the Reebok Stadium and was free to leave at the end of the season.

Earlier in the season, he had been linked with a move to Houston Dynamo, and now Toronto boss Ryan Nelsen is keen to bring the experienced forward - who has played more than 400 games for Bolton since joining in 2003 - to his club.

However, with Bolton in line for involvement in the Championship play-offs, a move may have to wait - even though Toronto would be keen for him to join as soon as possible.
