Robin van Persie claims title victory with Manchester United has whetted his appetite for more, with the Dutch striker claiming the club want to add to their 20th championship.

The forward arrived from Arsenal in the summer and his goals played a pivotal part in United romping to the title before the end of April.

Van Persie scored a hat-trick in the 3-0 win over Aston Villa as United wrapped up the title and having spent eight seasons at Arsenal without tasting league glory, the 29-year-old is hungry for more.

"From now on, our new standard is we want to be champions every year and we want to win more," he said. "So we are even more hungry than we were last season because you could just tell, from day one, everyone wanted this and we did well.

"I want to win it again. I want to win more stuff. I want to win the FA Cup, the Champions League, the Capital One Cup. I want to win it all.

"This is a trophy for all of us - the management, staff, all the players and the fans have been brilliant too. They've been absolutely amazing, cheering us on every single game, home and away, so credit to them as well."

The striker's 27th goal of the season, a stunning volley, is a contender for goal of the season. Of the strike, Van Persie said: "It is hard. Maybe if you look at the day, the occasion and the importance of the goal it was my best one.

"It was a great pass from Wayne (Rooney) for a start. He had to spot my run because I went in front of Ron Vlaar.

"It was straight into my path. I was counting my steps. The only thing I had to do was time it right and keep my body straight, level with the ball.

"You need to be a bit lucky with those goals because most of them go over or wide. That didn't, which was a big relief," he added to MUTV.
