Everton manager David Moyes has hailed midfielder Marouane Fellaini as "a big part of our squad" and said he wants him to stay at Goodison Park next season.

Belgium international Fellaini, 25, has scored 11 goals this season and created another five, delivering a string of impressive peformances for sixth-placed Everton.

He is under contract with the Merseysiders until 2016, but is reported to have a £23 million release clause in his deal and has been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea.

"He is a big part of our squad," Moyes told Yahoo! Sports. "He is someone that we will be more than happy to see here again next year at Goodison."

He said Fellaini, as well as providing a significant attacking threat for the Toffees, had also shown his qualities when asked to play more defensively.

"He is a good player in either role and is capable of doing both," Moyes explained. "I think, as he matures, he might grow into a deeper role, but currently he does give us a different attacking option and has scored quite a few goals."
