Andre Schurrle's agent has said he hopes the Bayer Leverkusen striker can complete a move to Chelsea within the next few days.

Ingo Haspelt spoke after reports said Leverkusen officials had travelled to London to hold talks with last season's Champions League winners about a switch.

"I am hoping for a solution around the weekend," Haspelt told Bild. "I am awaiting information from Leverkusen or Chelsea. I can only repeat that Chelsea want Schurrle, otherwise they would not be negotiating."

As part of the deal for Germany international Schurrle, Leverkusen want to take Chelsea midfielder Kevin de Bruyne, 21, on loan.

The Belgium international has impressed several Bundesliga clubs during a loan spell at Werder Bremen, which ends at the end of the season.

Earlier this week, Leverkusen general manager Wolfgang Holzhauser said he wanted Schurrle's future to be resolved "as soon as possible".

"Andre is, alongside Mario Gotze, one of the best young players in Germany and, if he leaves us, we will want cover for him," he said. "We want clarity as soon as possible."

Leverkusen take on Bremen at home this weekend. They are seven points ahead of fourth-placed Schalke, and have all but sealed third place and qualification for the Champions League.
