Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker has insisted his side are not cracking under the pressure of a push for a Champions League place for a second successive season.

Saturday's 2-2 draw against relegation-threatened Wigan handed the initiative to London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea in the race for a top four finish, but the experienced Parker has urged his team-mates to hold their nerve with just four games left to play this season.

"People will always ask whether we can handle the pressure and put those questions to us because of what happened in the past, but I don't think there is anything psychological happening in the changing room," Parker is quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror.

"I think we are showing character. I don't know what the stats are but apart from Man United, I think we might be one of the best teams at coming back from losing positions."

Parker believes Tottenham's success in salvaging a point against Wigan with an 89th minute leveller could yet prove to be crucial in their push for a top four finish, even though they fell a further two points behind Chelsea after the Blues' win against Swansea.

"There are four games left and along the way we need to pick up as many points as we can. I'm sure along the way other teams will be dropping them as well," Parker said.

"We have got great character and great belief here. It was massive with a couple of minutes to go to get back and we tried to nick it at the end. We have to take the positives. We are all disappointed at the moment, but in a couple of days we will get back focused on what we need to do."

Tottenham face a home game against Southampton next weekend before what looks likely to be a must win game for Andre Villas-Boas's side when they travel to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on May 8.
