Man City target El Shaarawy at Milan 'for life'

Stephan El Shaarawy has said he would like to remain at AC Milan for the rest of his career, and also offered his backing to coach Massimiliano Allegri.

El Shaarawy, 20, has been linked with Napoli and Manchester City, but Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani told IVM this week that the club have "no intention" of parting with the Italy international.

The forward, speaking as he collected his Milannews Award as the Rossoneri's best player for 2012, has stressed that he has no intention of leaving the San Siro.

"I am feeling good at Milan and hope to stay for life," he said on La Gazzetta dello Sport. "Hearing Galliani's words, that I am not for sale, made me extremely pleased."

El Shaarawy also offered his support to Allegri, who led Milan to the Scudetto in 2011 but has since seen his position come under scrutiny.

"Allegri has given me so much and he has had three outstanding seasons with Milan," he told milannews.it. "We have always been behind him, even when he has been questioned.

"He didn't listen to the criticism. He continued with his way of doing things. This year, we have made a real comeback and we have to be truly grateful to him because he has done a great job.

"I hope he stays with us. He's a great coach and we are very happy with him. There are so many rumours about him, questioning him, but I hope he remains here and believe that he will."

Galliani said earlier this month that Allegri's job is safe.
