AVB: Hulk to Tottenham is 'impossible'
Andre Villas-Boas has said it is 'impossible' that Tottenham will lure Hulk to White Hart Lane this summer.
Villas-Boas is a huge admirer of Hulk, having worked with him at Porto, and reports have claimed he wants to bring the Brazilian in to bolster a Tottenham attack that is a little thin on numbers.
Tottenham's push for Champions League qualification has been underpinned by the goals of Gareth Bale, as the combined strikes of Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor come in five short of Bale's total of 19, and it is an area Villas-Boas wants to strengthen.
Hulk is believed to be open to a move away from Russian side Zenit St Petersburg, but Villas-Boas has cooled talk of a bid for a player he feels will be too expensive for Spurs.
"He was my player and scored 36 goals in one season but it's impossible he will make a move here because of the wages that he earns, which would break our balance," Villas-Boas said of the player who cost Zenit a reported €32m last year.
"He may have options in the summer but to a club like Tottenham his transfer fee is also impossible."
