Laudrup considering Sinclair swoop

Michael Laudrup has hinted that Swansea could take Manchester City misfit Scott Sinclair back to Wales next season as he looks to lessen the load on top scorer Michu's shoulders.

The winger left the Liberty Stadium at the end of August in a £6.2 million deal but has only started two league games for Roberto Mancini's side since then.

And while Sinclair, who has played just 69 minutes of Premier League football since September, has suggested he is considering his options, the Capital One Cup winners indicated they may try to re-sign him.

"Good players in his position are always an option and he has a British passport which is another thing we have to look at in an overall perspective," Laudrup said.

"He has quality and he has already shown it and we will see what decisions we make on that for the future. But we have other players who can play that position that we are looking at."

Sinclair scored 27 goals in his first season at Swansea to help them win promotion to the Premier League and added a further eight last year to help them stay there.

And Laudrup said his ability to find the net could be a factor as Michu is the only Swansea player with more than five league goals in the current campaign.

"That's one thing to consider," he added. "We need more goals next year. We cannot expect Michu to score as many goals.

"We've scored 43 goals this season, one less than last season, and we have four games to go. But many of them have come from one player and you cannot put so much pressure on his shoulders.

"I would love Michu to repeat his goal-scoring numbers next year, but we cannot expect it so we have to divide the goals out to more players.

"We will need to bring in somebody who has scored goals on a regular basis in their career."
