Micah Richards is a target for Inter Milan and Napoli, the agent who represents him in Italy has said.

The two Serie A clubs are yet to make an offer for the Manchester City right-back, who has made only a handful of appearances in an injury-hit season.

Richards struggled to regain his place after five months out with a knee injury, and his agent claimed former manager Roberto Mancini, who was sacked on Monday, did not really trust the England international.

"Micah has had an unlucky season," the Football Italia website quoted Dario Canovi as saying. "He played very little under Mancini, and never really got his full confidence.

"Now we'll have to await the change of coach in order to make our assessments.

"Of course, Micah has many options, especially abroad. I'm in charge of negotiations related to Italy, so I can confirm that Inter and Napoli are interested. There has yet to be any real contact, though."
