Terry mocked for kit change

Chelsea defender John Terry bore the brunt of post-match criticism and heckles on social media following his decision to change out of his suit and into his playing kit for the trophy presentation after the Blues' 2-1 Europa League final win over Benfica.

Terry, who was kept out of Rafa Benitez's line-up through injury, entered the Amsterdam ArenA in a suit like Chelsea's other sidelined players, but reportedly rushed to the changing rooms after Branislav Ivanovic's winner to don his full kit.

The defender's antics came as no surprise, though. He did the same thing during last year's Champions League final after being suspended for the clash with Bayern Munich and stand-in captain Frank Lampard insisted before the match that he would welcome Terry to lift the trophy.

"It was the same last year with John, you win it together and as captain of the club John will be right up there," Lampard had said.

While there was no hesitation from Terry, he was the victim of some hilarious jibes on social media, with rival fans on Twitter eagerly mocking the 32-year-old.
