Lindegaard has 'no intentions' of leaving Man United

Anders Lindegaard has revealed he will fight for the No. 1 jersey at Manchester United and has no plans to depart Old Trafford.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson at the back end of 2010. However, the Dane has yet to make his presence felt at United with only a handful of games as he has been the understudy to David de Gea.

Ferguson - set to manage United for the final time on Sunday against West Bromwich Albion before retiring - has confirmed Lindegaard will start in goal at The Hawthorns, and despite his opportunities being limited during the title-winning campaign, Lindegaard will not be seeking a move away from the Red Devils.

"When players get to Manchester United they don't won't to leave. You're part of a family, and now I feel the same. I have no intentions of leaving," Lindegaard told Sky Sports News.

Lindegaard, who has only made 12 appearances this season, featured for five games in a row in the absence of De Gea in November, and though he has not been the preferred choice of Ferguson he is determined to be the regular keeper.

"I'm not going to wave the white flag and give up here," he said. "I'm fighting for the position even though David de Gea is my good friend but I still want the No. 1 shirt. Nothing has changed from one year ago or six months ago."
