Andre Schurrle hopes he has played his last game for Bayer Leverkusen as speculation over a move to Chelsea gathers pace.

Schurrle, 22, has been strongly linked with a transfer to Stamford Bridge, and reports have suggested a deal is already in place to bring him to the Premier League on a five-year deal.

It has been claimed, though, that negotiations have become more difficult with Chelsea midfielder Kevin de Bruyne, who had been mooted as a makeweight in the transfer, recently linked with Borussia Dortmund.

"I'd like to think this was my last game for Leverkusen," Schurrle told reporters after the club's 1-0 victory at Hamburger SV on Saturday. "We had everything lined up. Leverkusen will get everything they asked for. It has been a brutal time for me, those past two months."

General manager Rudi Voller hinted that a sale is in the offing, but only when the club have lined up a replacement for the Germany international.

"We are talking to potential replacements, but only when we get one of those replacements in will we do it [sell Schurrle]," Voller said.
