Man City insist Aguero will not leave

Manchester City are adamant that Sergio Aguero will not be leaving the Etihad Stadium this summer and has not said he wants to go.

Chief executive Ferran Soriano has revealed the 2012 Premier League champions have yet to receive a bid for the Argentina international and would not welcome one.

"He is not leaving," Soriano told the British press. "This speculation has gone on and on and on but we have had discussions with Sergio and his agent about several things and he has never expressed a willingness to go. We have never had an offer and even if we had an offer we would say no."

Aguero has been linked with Real Madrid, who were interested in signing him when he joined City in 2011, but Atletico Madrid were reluctant to sell to their local rivals.

The 24-year-old striker is believed to be unsettled since the break-up of his marriage to his wife Giannina, Diego Maradona's daughter, who spends much of her time in Madrid, along with their son, Benjamin.

Aguero has scored 47 goals in his two seasons at City, with the 30th and last in his debut campaign clinching the title last season.

But there has been speculation about the future of all three of their senior strikers, with Edin Dzeko likely to go and Carlos Tevez a reported target of Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain.
