Russia manager Fabio Capello has played down suggestions he could take over from Carlo Ancelotti at Paris Saint-Germain - but stopped short of ruling out a move to Parc des Princes.

Ancelotti has expressed a desire to take charge of Real Madrid and, while he maintains that there is a chance he could remain in Paris, it is expected that he will soon make the switch to the Bernabeu.

That has led to speculation that PSG have targeted Capello as his replacement, but the 66-year-old told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he is not expecting to replace his fellow Italian at the Ligue 1 champions.

"I've read in the papers that there is apparently an interest in me, but the truth is that there has been no contact," he said. "I am focused on my job as coach of Russia."

Capello, who left Real Madrid in 2007, has spent recent years leading the English and Russian national teams, and it would appear he has no great desire to return to club management.

"In life, you can never say never, but those who know me know I am a genuine person," he said. "I don't talk about ifs and buts. Right now, the reality is that I have a job with Russia."
