Isco keen to follow City target Pellegrini
Malaga playmaker Isco says he would like to continue playing under departing coach Manuel Pellegrini at the Chilean's next club - widely believed to be Manchester City.
Pellegrini is set to leave the Spanish outfit following this weekend's final round of La Liga fixtures.
The 59-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to managerless City, and the coach himself admitted on Sunday that the Etihad Stadium is among a number of "very good options" he has on offer.
There has also be plenty of talk that Isco is set for an exit from Malaga at the end of the season, with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and City all believed to be interested.
The player's father and Malaga executives were snapped driving into Madrid's Estadio Santiago Bernabeu last week, suggesting he could be on his way to the Spanish capital.
The former Valencia player, though, says he is no hurry to make a decision regarding his future, although he admits he would be happy to follow Pellegrini.
"He's been my footballing father and I know that he likes me and, for me, of course I would like to continue with him because he's given me all the confidence in the world," Isco told reporters after joining up with the Spain Under-21 squad on Monday, ahead of the European Championship in Israel.
When asked which club he would like to move to, Isco said that he will not be happy to go somewhere just to warm the bench.
"It's a very important decision for me and I don't want to get it wrong," he said.
"I have doubts because I want to play, wherever it is, and that's the most important thing. I don't want to regret it after not getting many minutes.
"I'm not closing my door to anyone but my priority is to play and I don't want to be on the bench. We'll see what happens in the summer."
