French side Monaco have stolen a march on Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Zenit St Petersburg striker Hulk, according to the Brazilian's agent.

Hulk, 26, could link up with former Porto team-mate Radamel Falcao, who has reportedly begun negotiations to secure a move to the Ligue 2 champions.

With James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho already having signed for Monaco, the addition of Hulk would complete a reunion of the Porto side which won the Europa League and Portuguese Liga title in 2011.

Hulk requested a transfer from Zenit in January, just four months after joining the Russian club, but was prohibited from playing for three clubs in one season.

A move to Monaco would suit the Brazil international, and his agent, Teodora Fonseca, has confirmed that the Principality club is likely to make an offer in the coming weeks.

"I know people at Monaco," Fonseca told Le 10 Sport. "They have not contacted me, but there has been speculation and the interest is real."
