Pepe Reina has once again spoken about a "hypothetical" move to Barcelona but stressed that he remains very happy at Liverpool.

Victor Valdes is widely expected to leave Barcelona this summer, having decided against renewing a contract that runs out in 12 months' time, and Reds goalkeeper Reina has been strongly linked.

Reina began his career at the Camp Nou, leaving in 2002 to spend three years at Villarreal before moving to Liverpool, and has spoken on several occasions about a move back to Barca. His father, Miguel, who played in goal for Barca between 1966 and 1973, has also suggested his son would be a good long-term replacement for Valdes.

Reina, speaking in Spain at the launch of his new personal website, www.pepereina25.com, said: "I do not believe I would consider moving to another club.

"It is difficult to leave Liverpool - it would have to be to improve, to grow, and at this moment it is very difficult to improve on what I have. I am not sure if Barcelona are interested in me. I do not know if they have been in contact with my agent [Manolo Garcia Quilon]. If he has not told me it is because there is nothing serious on the table.

"Manolo looks after these things. He has been with me for 15 years and knows what I like and what I do not."

The 30-year-old, whose current Liverpool contract still has three years remaining, said Barca were a "great club", but there was no point in discussing an offer that does not yet exist.

"It is difficult to say no to a great club like Barcelona," he said, "but that is talking hypothetically and should not be done. At the moment I have the option to remain at Liverpool, and nothing more. Anything else is just talking for talk's sake because nobody has sat down to negotiate anything, nor has there been direct contact. "
