Luiz dismisses Barcelona link

David Luiz has played down reports linking the Chelsea defender with a summer move to Barcelona.

The 26-year-old has reportedly caught the eye of the Spanish champions after an impressive campaign with the Blues which culminated in victory in the Europa League.

But while the Brazil international believes Barca play an attractive style of football, he says he has heard nothing about a potential transfer to the Nou Camp.

"My objective is to be happy and this is possible playing always in a team that controls the ball," he told the Daily Star.

"Barcelona is the team that has developed the best football in the last few years. I know Barca were interested in my services in the past but now I do not have any news."

Luiz, who has been deployed in both defence and midfield at Stamford Bridge, made 57 appearances for Chelsea last season and chipped in with seven goals - many of them spectacular.
