Christian Atsu has turned down a new contract from Porto, paving the way for the Liverpool and Tottenham target to make a "dream" move to the Premier League.

Atsu, 21, was offered a new four-year deal by the Portuguese champions but, after rejecting the offer, the winger is now setting his sights on a move to England.

"I spoke with Porto before coming to this decision and informed them that I will not sign a new contract," Atsu told Abola. "The club told me what they want to do, and hopefully we can find a solution now.

"My dream is to play in England and it is very nice to see my name linked with big clubs in the Premier League. For now, I'm focused on my football, but I see my future in England. I hope to have some news soon."

Liverpool are expected to rekindle their interest in the Ghana international, with £7 million believed to be the fee required to prise the player away from Porto.

Atsu first made an impact while on loan at Rio Ave in 2012, before returning to his parent club for the start of last season.
