Jose Mourinho has told Chelsea supporters of his delight that they are "back together and ready to marry again" after sealing his return to Stamford Bridge on a four-year contract.

Speaking to Chelsea TV on the day that his return as Blues boss was confirmed by the club, Mourinho has spoken passionately about the bond he has with the Blues supporters as he prepares to begin his second stint as Chelsea manager.

"Now I can say that I am one of you and let's make a bit of a difference," he said, while sitting next to a Chelsea branded backdrop.

"In football I have never hidden that I have two great passions: Inter and Chelsea - and Chelsea is more important to me.

"It was very difficult to play against Chelsea. I did it only twice, which was not so bad.

"Now I promise exactly the same things that I promised in 2004, but the difference now is that I am one of you."

Mourinho went on to reflect on his departure from the club in 2007, and suggested this was the perfect moment to make his Stamford Bridge comeback.

"It was a difficult moment because I loved it here and had a big connection with the club, so my departure wasn't easy," he said.

"In my career after that, I had what I was looking for in my career and Chelsea also had some important moments. Now we are back together and we are ready to marry again."

Mourinho has also confirmed his backroom staff with Rui Faria, Silvino Louro and Jose Morais joining him as assistants, while Steve Holland, Christophe Lollichon and Chris Jones, who are already at the club will remain.

The Portuguese will be presented to the media at a Stamford Bridge press conference next Monday, nine years after he proclaimed himself to be the Special One at his first unveiling as Chelsea manager.
