Navas signs for Manchester City

Jesus Navas has revealed he had been in talks with Manchester City for four months and had no doubts about making the move, despite reported late interest from Real Madrid.

Sevilla confirmed on Tuesday morning that a deal had been struck to take Navas to City, with just a medical and the signing of the contract to be completed.

Navas is currently on international duty with Spain, but he is already looking forward to making the move to Eastlands.

"We've been talking with Manchester City for four months," the winger said. "The decision is taken.

"There had been rumours (about Real Madrid), but Manchester City were in from the start and I had decided some time ago. It's a good project and it was the moment to make the step.

"The Premier League is a competition where the football is very fast. I'm really looking forward to it. Manchester City are making a great team.

"I'm going from Sevilla, which is a very nice place, and I'm going to a great club in England."

Manuel Pellegrini is poised to take control at City and Navas is looking forward to working with the former Malaga boss.

"I don't know Pellegrini personally, but I've heard good things about him," Navas said. "He's a great coach."
