Napoli confirm Chelsea interest in Cavani
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed Chelsea are interested in Edinson Cavani, and is expecting negotiations to take place "in the next few hours".
Cavani has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for many months but Chelsea must activate a £53 million release clause in the Uruguay international's contract.
Incoming Blues boss Jose Mourinho is evidently a keen admirer of the striker and De Laurentiis hinted that a deal may be agreed upon in the coming days.
"The budget for the transfer market will be based in relation to the Financial Fair Play rules," De Laurentiis told Radio Marte.
"If Cavani is sold then I'll reinvest all of the £53m of his rescission clause. There is interest from Chelsea in Cavani, they'll call me in the next few hours.
"I'll be delighted if he stays, but if he leaves then he will be adequately replaced."
