Jose Enrique is convinced Philippe Coutinho has the talent to propel Liverpool back into Champions League contention.

It could well be a busy summer at Anfield, with star striker Luis Suarez unhappy and seemingly seeking a move away from the club.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has spoken positively about keeping hold of Suarez but, irrespective of the Uruguayan's situation, Enrique feels the future at Anfield is bright.

And the shining light for the Spanish full back is Coutinho, who has made a positive impression since joining the club in the January transfer window.

The midfielder's range of passing and quality on the ball have highlighted him as a real talent and Enrique feels he could fire Liverpool back into the big time.

"Coutinho is a very special player," Enrique told the club's official web site. "His vision and his passing is incredible and he's an amazing lad as well.

"It was really good to have him in the team and he proved to be a great signing. For me, Coutinho was the best player in the Premier League in the second half of the season.

"He's still young and improving but I think he will be very important for us next season when we will fight to get into the top four. Hopefully he will help us achieve our target of the Champions League."
