Arsenal target Clement Grenier is set to disappoint a host of admiring clubs and remain at Lyon for a further season, claims the France international's father.

With just a year remaining on his OL contract, Grenier, 22, has been linked to a number of sides with Arsenal reportedly the most ardent of his admirers.

The stylish midfielder, who made his senior international debut in last weekend's friendly defeat to Uruguay and featured from the bench against Brazil on Sunday, has already admitted he has told OL president Jean-Michel Aulas and coach Remi Garde what he will do this summer, and his dad, Michel, gave the strongest suggestion yet that his son will be at the Stade de Gerland come August.

"I think Clement will be at Lyon next season," Grenier Sr told TF1.

While Grenier has become central to Garde's plans, with the OL youth academy product being accommodated in a central role at the expense of Yoann Gourcuff, Aulas has consistently maintained he would attempt to keep the player with the seven-time Ligue 1 champions despite the club needing €25 million this summer to balance the books.

"We're talking [about a contract extension], but the position of the club is that no player which has come through the club's youth academy and who has come of age will leave this year," Aulas was reported as saying by L'Equipe on Saturday.
