Mourinho says he is the 'happy one'

Jose Mourinho has described himself as the "happy one" in his first press conference since returning to Chelsea.

Mourinho was unveiled a week after signing a contract and he kept the media waiting before walking in to a scrum of journalists and clicking cameras.

Much had been made on whether he would refer to himself as "the Special One" as he did nine years ago. He was asked about being the "Special One" in his first question, and responded by saying he is a "happy one".

"I am the happy one," Mourinho said. "I am the same person, same heart and have same emotions.

"If I had to describe myself I am a very happy person and it is the first time I arrive already loving the club."

Mourinho insisted his exit from Chelsea in 2007 was by mutual consent and denied that his relationship with Blues owner Roman Abramovich was broken, so that there are no real bridges to build.

"It was not bad. Many people did not believe, but it was a mutual agreement. We felt it was best for me and for the club. It was a sad moment, of course. But I don't regret as I went to Inter where I probably had the best moment of my career.

"It was a difficult decision for both of us but made by mutual agreement. There was never a break of the relationship. If that was the case it would not be possible for me to be back today."

Mourinho is desperate to get to work with the players, but is likely to be working behind the scenes on shaping his squad.

"I think I am in the best moment of my career in terms of knowledge and experience," he said. "I am sorry pre-season doesn't start tomorrow.

"I have come here to give my best. I want to be respected for what I did in the past, but I want to be loved for what I can do from now.

"I am where I want to be. So now it is up to me to work hard and show my club that I deserve to be here for a long time."
