Skrtel set for Liverpool crisis talks
Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel is set for showdown talks with the club regarding his future, according to his agent.
Skrtel, 28, who lost his place in the Reds starting line-up last season, has been linked with a move away from Anfield this the summer.
Serie A side Napoli are believed to be interested in the centre-back, with new coach Rafa Benitez having brought Skrtel to Liverpool in the first place.
The Slovakia international has spoken of his frustrations over a lack of game time, and says he is prepared to move elsewhere in order to seek first-team football.
No approach has yet been made for the player, but Skrtel's representative, Karol Csonto, is keen to meet with Liverpool officials to discuss his client's future.
Csonto told Radio Crc: "There has been no contact between the two clubs. Martin has a contract with Liverpool and it is important to honour that.
"Obviously Napoli know Martin well, but there cannot be any contact between us and them if they do not first reach an agreement with Liverpool. I will be in England next week to talk with Liverpool and define Martin's future."
Liverpool have signed Kolo Toure on a free transfer, while fellow centre-back Kyriakos Papadopoulos is a reported target for the club, meaning a Skrtel exit could well be possible.
