Roberto Mancini is expecting to be in charge at Manchester City next season and believes Carlos Tevez will be in his squad at Eastlands.

City missed out on Champions League qualification following defeat to Tottenham on Wednesday and questions were immediately raised about the Italian's future.

Tevez's future is also under scrutiny, amid suggestions he and Mancini are not on the same wavelength, but the Italian expects to be working with the Argentine forward next term.

"Carlos Tevez has a contract with Manchester City and he will be here next season," Mancini said.

Responding to questions about his own future, Mancini said: "Yes I'm confident. I don't know but I think I stay here. Why not?

"I work here four or five months and I think when you build a house you don't start from the roof but the basement. We work very well but we are near the roof."
