Jose Mourinho is "sure" that he will return to England at some stage - although he does not expect to be managing in the Premier League next season.

The Inter Milan boss, who has led his team to this season's Champions League final, won two Premier League titles during his spell as Chelsea coach between 2004 and 2007.

He would be open to a return to Stamford Bridge, although he may find his way obstructed by Carlo Ancelotti - who looks set to bag the Premier League in his first full season at the Blues.

Even if he cannot secure the Chelsea job, Mourinho - one of the most coveted coaches in world football - is not likely to be short of offers.

"I lived there [England] three years and I know I will return for sure. [As for] when, nobody knows," he said. "Will it be next season? I don't think so, but for sure I will be back in England. [I could coach] any club. Chelsea is a beautiful team but I'm a football coach not just a Chelsea coach."

However, Mourinho is not ruling out extending his stay at Inter, who are on course for a trio of prizes. They defeated Roma on Wednesday evening to win the Coppa Italia, while they look set to clinch the Serie A title before they face Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.

"This is a team that in any case, whoever guides it, will do well. Are there any possibilities that I remain? Yes," he said.
