Galatasaray are set to make a move to sign Chelsea's Jon Obi-Mikel, with the 26-year-old midfielder reportedly willing to listen to the proposals of the Turkish champions.

Reports in the Guardian and the Daily Mirror suggest Galatasaray will make a bid for Mikel once his Confederations Cup commitments with Nigeria have been concluded, though it is also suggested that the player is in no rush to leave Stamford Bridge.

Mikel has come under fire from sections of the Chelsea faithful of late, who have struggled to warm to his brand of effective if unspectacular contributions in a midfield over loaded with attacking talent.

Injuries and a loss of form ensured Mikel missed large chunks of last season as he fell down the pecking order under interim manager Rafael Benitez. but he still finished the season having played 38 games in all competitions.

Jose Mourinho's return to Chelsea may have given Mikel encouragement that his Blues career may be about to take off once more as it was the same manager who signed him in a contentious transfer from Lyn Oslo back in 2006.

Yet it may be that Mikel is one of the player set to leave Chelsea this summer, as Mourinho looks to shuffle the pack he is inheriting before making some big signings of his own.
