Jesus Navas is excited at the prospect of linking up with Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City, and believes the new coach will get the most out of his team.

Navas has completed a £14.9 million move from Sevilla to City and is confident that alongside the former Malaga and Villareal manager he can achieve great things at his new club.

"Everything I know about him is positive. Every team he coaches plays well, and everyone in the city will support him," Navas told the club's official website about Pellegrini, who was appointed on Friday.

"He's important because he will help the team and we all know the importance of a good manager and a good person that we trust.

"I think [his teams are good] defensively as well. He clearly knows how to take a team, work hard, and get the most out of us."

Navas will link up with fellow Spain international David Silva at City, but he is also looking forward to the prospect of coming up against some of his countrymen as opposition.

"I'm looking forward to playing against the Spanish players that are here - [Santi] Cazorla, [Nacho] Monreal, [Pepe] Reina, [Fernando] Torres, [Juan] Mata, and then doing well in such a good league," he added.
