Marco van Ginkel could be the subject of a transfer battle between Manchester United and Chelsea after the Dutch Under-21 international revealed he may be on the move in the summer.

Van Ginkel was part of the Netherlands side to crash out of the European Under-21 Championship on Saturday after they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Italy in the semi-finals.

Currently at Vitesse, the midfielder last week hinted at a transfer to the Premier League, and reports in his homeland claimed Chelsea had agreed terms with the 20-year-old.

However, Van Ginkel has yet to decide where he will be playing his club football next season.

"My future? Now I have a vacation and I'll concentrate on that. After my holiday, we will see. Maybe!" Van Ginkel told Sky Sports News Radio after the loss to Italy.

On learning of United joining Chelsea in the race to sign the Dutch youngster, Van Ginkel said: "Manchester United, I didn't know... I have two more years at Vitesse. It's a club who's growing, so I'm also happy there."
