Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has claimed Tottenham Hotspur are "really interested" in Fredy Guarin.

Guarin, 26, signed for Inter on a permanent basis from Porto last year and made 32 Serie A appearances for the club during the 2012-13 season.

It is claimed there is interest from a number of sides in the Colombia international, with Spurs said to be among his suitors.

Moratti is quoted by Sky Sports as saying: "Guarin? He is a really good player and for that reason he is liked by others. Tottenham are really interested."

While Tottenham have yet to comment on the speculation, Anzhi Makhachkala have moved to distance themselves with rumours of a summer move for Guarin.

A statement on the club's official website read: "Regarding the rumours on Fredy Guarin, we deny holding an interest in the player.

"These assumptions are without substance, as they also are about [Roberto] Soldado and [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang.

"The Anzhi name is used to fuel talks and increase a player's value. There aren't any negotiations under way."
