Isco offers 'on the table' from City and Madrid

Isco has claimed he has offers "on the table" from both Manchester City and Real Madrid and would like his future to be decided soon.

The Malaga attacker's sparkling performances at the current European Under-21 Championships in Israel, including a superb solo goal in Saturday's 3-0 semi-final victory over Norway, have underlined his talent and made the €35 million release clause in his current contract look very good value indeed.

Reports in the UK suggest new Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen to bring the 21-year-old with him from the Andalucian club. Meanwhile, speculation in Spain maintains that Madrid president Florentino Perez is very keen to sign the youngster, and the player's father and lawyer were photographed driving to a meeting at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in late May.

The Malaga born player told AS that he had no real preference between the two suitors, but wanted his current side to be happy with whatever transfer was agreed.

"Well, these are two subjects which are on the table," Isco said. "I hope to decide quickly because I still have a contract with Malaga. I know that Manchester City and Real Madrid are two big clubs. I want the best for me and for Malaga. I do not mind [which club], what I want is to play football wherever it is, and to enjoy myself."

Isco admitted with a smile that his Spanish underage colleagues Dani Carvajal and Alvaro Morata, his room-mate in Israel, had spent their time together this week trying to persuade him to join them at the Bernabeu.

"The two guys are there trying it and insisting," he laughed.

Isco said he had not spoken with Pellegrini since the Chilean coach was confirmed in his new post last Friday.

"No, I have not spoken with him," he said. "I saw about his signing on the internet, when it happened, but he has not called me. He is a great coach and I hope things go well for him in England. He did impressive work at Malaga, as he had at other clubs before. I am sure things will go well for him there."

The chance to work with Pellegrini again was one point to consider, but not the only factor in his choice, Isco said.

"It is true that I know Pellegrini, how he works and the two years I have been with him at Malaga have been fundamental for my career," he said. "It is a point in favour that we have been together and to know how he works, but nothing definitive."
