New Stoke manager Mark Hughes will take the Potters on a three-match tour of the United States in July.

Stoke travelled to the United States under former boss Tony Pulis last year, and will return to face Houston Dynamo on July 24, FC Dallas (July 27) and Philadelphia Union (July 30).

The opportunity to take on Houston and Dallas arose during the transfer negotiations that brought US internationals Geoff Cameron and Brek Shea to the Britannia Stadium last season.

"The addition of the Philadelphia fixture means our itinerary for the US tour is now complete, and this forms a major part of our pre-season schedule," Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes said.

"The trip to the States last year was a huge success due to the quality of the opposition we faced in our three matches and the high standard of training facilities - something we feel we have replicated with the arrangements for this nine-day tour."

Stoke have already confirmed that they also intend to play one game at the Britannia Stadium against continental opposition before the Premier League season kicks off, with August 10 a likely date.
